The Kittitas Fire Adapted Communities Coalition (KFACC), is a collaborative group of stakeholders and community members who live and work in Kittitas County and who recognize the importance of wildfire issues. KFACC works across property ownerships to accelerate the pace and scale of restoration and for wildfire mitigation. KFACC also promotes the education of all of Kittitas County to understand the role of fire in the historical landscape and encourages all individuals to know their role to proactively live in the wildfire environment as it exists today.

KFACC members recognize the importance of working together, across property ownerships to address issues of fire adapted communities in the county.

In addition to fiscal sponsorship, the WRCD has played a key role in supporting KFACC by providing:

  • Grant funding procurement and contract management
  • Coordination and facilitation of regular KFACC meetings
  • Strategic planning
  • Project tracking and monitoring
  • Communications and local outreach and community engagement
  • Partnership liaising

Through this multi-faceted support, the WRCD has helped to provide the capacity and foundation for KFACC to focus on developing and implementing on-the-ground projects across Kittitas County.
